The council's mandate is to ensure that the decisions we make now will protect and advance the Basin's social, economic and environmental sustainability into the future. Over the past 10 years, the Council and its partners have tackled more than 50 important sustainability issues, and have established a solid track record of getting people together to find practical, common sense solutions to long-standing issues.

IISD champions sustainable development around the world through innovation, partnerships, research and communications. Themes include: Climate Change and Energy, Economics and Sustainable Development, Foreign Investment for Sustainable Development, Information Society, Measuring and Assessment, Natural Resources, Networks and Partnerships, Security, Tomorrow's Sustainable Development Leaders, and Trade.

FORREX is a British Columbia, Canada-based charitable non-share corporation, founded in 1998 to help people develop science and knowledge-based solutions to complex natural resource challenges.    The Sustainable Forest Management Network (SFMN or SFM Network) is an incorporated non-profit Canadian research group. SFM is a Network for Centres of Excellence (NCE).With our partners, we fund, plan, conduct, and apply interdisciplinary, university-based research that addresses issues related to sustainable forest management.
